Are you curious about eyelash extensions? Learn about everything you want to know by reading our FAQ about eyelash extensions.

What Are Lash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent fibers attached to your natural eyelashes to add thickness, length, and curl. In order to make your lash fringe look longer, fuller, and darker. It can open up your eyes and brighten them.

Individual lash extensions are applied to each of your individual natural eyelashes (one extension per natural eyelash) using semi-permanent glue.

The material varies from studio to studio, but lash extensions can be made of synthetic, mink, faux mink, or silk fibers. Most studios offer a variety of extension lengths, curl patterns, and tints so clients can customize their look.

Are Eyelash Extensions Safe?

When an extension is correctly applied on the natural lash, it doesn’t hurt. That’s because it doesn’t come into contact with your skin at any point. The eyelash extension application process is so relaxing.

To keep the eyes safe, lashes should be applied correctly applied by a licensed and trained professional in a sanitary setting, with chemicals that are safe for your skin.

Warm Tips: To protect your eyes while receiving this procedure, your eyes should be kept closed.

The More Eyelashes Extension, The Better?

No, it depends on your lashes and what type of eyelash extension you want.

Our natural eyelashes range from 90 to 120 per eye. That’s why lash techs may add 60 extensions per eye, or double that number, based on the style you want. These are different from traditional strip lashes or clusters as lash extensions are customized to the shape of the eye and texture of the natural lashes of every client. Exceeds the load-bearing range of your  eyelashes, it is easy to cause the original eyelashes to break, which is not worth the loss.

How Long Can You Keep Extensions On?

As with the hair on your head, eyelashes follow a natural cycle of shedding and regrowth. All of your lashes are at a different stage at any point in time, which means that some of your lashes are getting ready to fall out while others are experiencing a period of growth

With proper care, extensions can last up to 6 weeks before they shed. The shedding cycle will happen in tandem with your natural lashes growth cycle, which generally turns over around every 6 to 8 weeks.

To maintain the full-lashed effect in the long term, refills are a great way to extend the life of your lashes and are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks.

How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Take to Apply?

Typically a full set takes anywhere from one to two hours, depending on the desired look of lashes the client wants to achieve.

What Should I Do If The Eyelash Extension Is Messed Up?

Just comb it with an eyelash comb.

Usually wake up, the eyelashes will become particularly messy, don’t pull your eyelashes with your hands at this time! Otherwise, not only the false lashes will be pulled off, but your natural eyelashes will also be pulled off by you. The correct way is to comb the eyelashes with a fluffy brush in one direction along the eyelashes, carefully combing your eyelashes from the root to the end.

Therefore, the eyelashes can be restored to their original order. It should be noted that the force should be light, so as not to comb the lashes.

Can I Wear Makeup With Eyelash Extensions?

Yes.

You can wear makeup with eyelash extensions, however, it’s normally recommended to wear as little as possible so it’s easier to remove without affecting the extensions. There are also certain kinds of makeup that you should avoid wearing entirely when you have eyelashes extensions.

You can wear most, if not all face makeup when you have eyelash extensions, however, you’ll want to make sure that all the makeup you are using is oil-free, especially any makeup that will be applied around the eye area like foundation, concealer, and makeup primer. Any moisturizer or products you use in your daily routine may need to be changed if any of them contain oils.

Tips For Removing Makeup From Your Extensions

The good news is that you can safely and effectively remove that makeup. Use these simple tips, and you can cleanse your extensions in a way that protects their integrity.

Get a safe, oil-free makeup remover.

Take a lash comb and dip it into the makeup remover, using a paper towel to remove any excess liquid.

Gently comb the lashes, allowing the makeup remover to coat the extensions.

The liquid will dissolve the makeup, which can then be gently combed out of your lashes.

When the makeup is gone, gently cleanse your eyelashes with a mild soap, then rinse with water.

Make sure that you remove the makeup as soon as it’s no longer needed. Don’t leave it on overnight, or allow it to build up over time, as that can create hygiene problems that could result in an infection. By following these tips, you can ensure that your lashes remain in top shape, and keep them looking and feeling their best.

Will Lash Extensions Damage My Natural Lashes?

Of  Course  No!

A natural eyelash is only connected to a false eyelash, and it is OK not to be “overweight”.

The most important principle of eyelash extensions is that only one false eyelash is stuck to a natural lash. In this way, the lashes will not be broken due to excessive weight. In addition, the eyelashes cannot stick to the root of the lashes and have a distance of about 0.5mm. Therefore,  it will not stimulate the hair follicles, cause sensitivity or hinder the growth of eyelashes.

Who Can wear Eyelash Extensions?

The answer is almost anybody. While most of the people who receive the eyelash extension procedure are women, it is possible for men to receive eyelash extensions. Some men suffer from hair loss, and this can affect their lashes. Extensions can provide fuller lashes for a more natural look, without looking ridiculous.

How Do I Care For My Lash Extensions?

①. About 12 hours after eyelash extension, avoid washing your face, bathing, sauna, swimming, and other humid and high-temperature environments, because after eyelash extension, although it appears to be air-dried, it is not completely cured. Touching water at this time will cause the eyelashes to fall off.

②. Extending eyelashes can hook the fibers, so you need to pay attention when using towels and other items. Sleeping on silk pillowcases can be a great solution for face-sleepers, with the natural material lessening any friction – plus, silk has great anti-frizz benefits for your hair!

③. Extending eyelashes is not irritating. Avoid actions such as do rub the eyes, pulling eyelashes, and other actions that damage the eyelashes with your hands.

④. It is recommended to apply an appropriate amount of eyelash styling liquid once a week to consolidate the styling effect of eyelashes.

Aftercare Tips

Avoid Getting Them Wet the First 24 Hours: Avoid all contact with water and steam within the first 48 hours after having your extensions applied.

Don’t Use Cleansers With Oil: Don’t use any oil-based products while you have lash extensions. This includes makeup removers, cleansers, facial oils, and oil-serum hybrids, as the oil causes the glue to dissolve.

Don’t Stand Under the Showerhead For Too Long: “The weight of the water can lead to premature breakages,” says Richardson, recommending that you brush your lashes when you get out of the shower. “Lashes do need to be brushed every so often to remove access water and just in general with a spoolie brush.”

Sleep on Your Side: If you’re a stomach sleeper, be forewarned that your eyelashes are likely being pressed into (and rubbed against) your pillowcase, which will expedite fallout and breakage.

Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes or Touching Your Extensions: The more touching, tugging, and rubbing, the weaker your extensions become and the more likely they are to fall out or break off ahead of schedule (taking the natural lash they were attached to with them).

Don’t Use an Eyelash Curler: “Never ever use a mechanical eyelash curler,” says Richardson. “If your extensions are starting to [lose curl], use a heated eyelash curler to gently lift them. Mary J Blige always has one of ours stashed in her makeup bag and never travels without it.”

How To Maintain Your Lash Extensions?

Apart from avoiding water for four hours after getting your extensions done, there are many aftercare techniques to extend the life of lash extensions nowadays.

Cleaning: First off, you need to clean your eyelashes one to two times every day with a compatible cleaner. Keep in mind to avoid water pressure directly on lashes when showering with extensions.

Brushing: Combing your dry lashes will prevent them from tangling besides cleaning debris and avoiding clumps. The best way is to brush them on a daily basis.

Curling: Never use a mechanical curler on your lash extensions as it can pull and snag on them, leading to premature falling out.

Keep off the eyes: It’s best to avoid rubbing or scrubbing your eyes harshly as it can also cause extensions to shed early.

Refill: Going for a refill at the right time, typically every two to three weeks to reduce the cost of doing a full set and maintaining a beautiful lash line.

Hairdryer: Never use the hairdryer on the hot setting and always go for the cool setting. That being said, you could also let them air dry on their own before you brush them.

Avoid heat, oil, and salt: From swimming in the ocean to avoiding the sauna, and using cosmetic products with oil around the eye such as waterproof eyeliner and mascara, there are many ways to maximize the retention of lash extensions.

Sleeping etiquettes: When sleeping with eyelash extensions, you can start sleeping on your back or side by replacing your cotton pillow covers with a soft fabric like silk or satin to prevent lashes from snagging on them.

How Do I Prepare For Eyelash Extensions?

Before eyelash extensions, it is advisable not to wear makeup or make sure you don’t have eye makeup or excess products, such as eye cream, around your eye area. The eye area should be kept clean. Moreover, do not wear contact lenses for lash extensions, as this can have unpredictable consequences if any foreign objects get into your eyes during the process.

Are There Other Color Eyelashes To Choose From?

Yes, for sure!

Not only are there a ton of choices in the lash extension material, volume, length and curl available, but you also have a range of color choices. There’s beautiful black, which never goes out of style. Want to be daring? Go for a full set of colored lashes. Or choose just a few colored extensions to intersperse with a more natural color. You’ll get just a little pop of color here and there, like highlights in your hair.

What Is A Custom Designed Set Of Eyelash Extensions?

Eyes are unique and beautiful. The shape of your eye and its varied features can guide your lash technician in choosing the best design when planning your set of eyelash extensions. Extensions can range in lengths, curves, and weights and a good lash technician will always use your natural lashes, eye shape, and features as a guide when choosing which type of extensions to use in your set.

What Are The Benefits Of Eyelash Extensions?

The situation in the world, in addition to radical changes in lifestyle, has brought us less visible changes. Thanks to the wearing of face masks, a longer stay at home, and the cancellation of social events, interest in the purchase of decorative cosmetics, especially lipsticks, decreased last year. However, the decline did not affect eye make-up products much, and interest in false eyelashes even increased by 15 %.

So now is the perfect time to fulfill your dream of beautiful long lashes and an enchanting look. What are the main benefits of eyelash extension?

Save Time Getting Ready! Eyelash extensions are already very distinctive in themselves, you don’t have to put on and remove any make-up. Forget crumbled and smeared mascara.

Wake Up Glamorous and Boost Your Confidence Eyelash extensions are a quick way to wake up feeling flawless. Upon waking up, you don’t have to do anything to your eyes to get a refreshed look. Live Free from Runny Mascara Gone will be the days of having to buy waterproof mascara and remembering to wear it to certain events. No more blotting your eyes if you find yourself unexpectedly crying, no more hiding your face from the rain, and no more rubbing your eyes at a sweaty club or festival to keep your mascara from running down.

Outside of the first 48 hours of getting your eyelashes done, they are waterproof and will not be leaking any kind of goop down your face at the slightest inconvenience. So feel free to cry, swim, run or dance in the rain, sweat, or whatever it is that mascara was keeping you from. Live your life to the fullest without a care in the world as you no longer have to worry about runny mascara.

Customize Your Lashes To Best Suit You One of the best things about eyelash extensions that people do not know is that they are customization! If the long lashes look is not for you, you can always ask for a more natural and fuller look. No matter what kind of eyelash look you like, there is an option out there for you. If you’ve ever thought to yourself that you don’t like the way the look on people, that may just be because of the style that they have chosen. Don’t feel like you have to settle for the thick and long lashes when there are truly many options out there that can complement your natural lashes and simply give them a lift.

Anti-Aging Properties To Keep Your Skin Wrinkle Free Longer Although this may not be the first thing that comes to mind when considering eyelash extensions, it’s definitely a great plus. The eyelashes themselves will not contain or give you any anti-aging properties, but they will cause a ripple effect. By wearing eyelash extensions you will be wearing less eye makeup on a regular basis. This means that you will be rubbing your eyes less at the end of the night attempting to remove the product from your eyes before going to bed.

What Happens When You Sleep With Eyelash Extensions?

To get the longest life out of your lashes, try to avoid sleeping on your stomach because this position will catch your lashes in between you and your pillow, compromising their perfect shape and speeding up the shedding process.

Can You Rub Your Eyes With Eyelash Extensions?

If you’re wearing eyelash extensions, avoid rubbing your eyes whenever possible. When you rub your eye, the friction can cause your lashes to twist out of place – in some cases, they can be ripped out by a stray fingernail or knuckle!
